Christopher Schlierf’s first involvement in a Hollywood movie. He had the pleasure to create a sequence in MARVEL STUDIO'S new blockbuster 'ANT MAN'. The action driven scenes establish the villain of the movie. For Christopher Schlierf it was a dream come true and a blast working with the talented artists of the VFX House Trixter LA and Munich who also worked on Iron Man 3 and the new Avengers 2.
In 2015 the post house Trixter got the chance to pitch for a sequence for Marvel's $130,000,000 superhero action movie 'Ant Man'. A creative lead and director was needed to create the idea and form a pitch that could be presented to Marvel's producer Kevin Feige and director Peyton Reed. The challenge was to build a convincing pitch within a few days that will outdo the very strong competitors.
Christopher Schlierf's unique visual cinematic style, experience in handling big budget production with thrilling storytelling, insight knowledge in how to shoot action scenes and deep VFX and 3D animation skills were the perfect combination for Trixter to help them helm the job.
With only a few days given, Christopher Schlierf led the artists to build a pitch that not only included detailed storyboards and stunning concept arts but pushed the presentation to a whole new level by creating an animatic with sound design, music and voice over. This film perfectly demonstrated the action, pace and narrative and convinced the client in the cinesync presentation. Afterwards Trixter was hired to fully animate the storyboard frames close to the animatics created by Christopher Schlierf. Under his direction and creative lead Trixter's team of 3D artists built an exciting action sequence for the international blockbuster hit. Christopher Schlierf’s fast commercial approach to solve things helped Trixter to deliver fast results with a very efficient workflow. This success allowed Trixter to deepen Marvel Studio's Trust in Trixter's abilities and lead to more follow up jobs in the upcoming years. The'Ant Man' film was a huge success at the box office with $519,31 1,965 worldwide gross.
